Spring might be behind us but there's plenty going on at Brewed As. this April. We've got a couple of things to share from the heart, some midweek deals worth knowing about, a stunning new dish on the evening menu, an important heads-up about our new hours, a community story we really want you to hear, and not one but two birthdays worth raising a glass to. Courtyard Refresh
If you’ve been sitting in our courtyard lately, you might have noticed things looking a little fresher.
We’ve been sanding and oiling all the outdoor tables - a proper reset to keep the space feeling warm and loved. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes jobs that no one really sees… until they do.
A little elbow grease goes a long way.
February
January didn’t get a newsletter, but it did get dumplings, dub, full tables, and an event that felt just right. Dumplings & Dub brought the energy - good food, good people, and basslines rolling through the courtyard, and maybe some of the neighbours yards.
So consider this your February reset. Set menus - including one that’s booking quicker than we expected - funky Fridays, dumpling Tuesdays, and a rare natural from Uganda that’s showing just how expressive coffee can be, especially over ice.

It’s been one of those years where Mangawhai has kept us guessing - from the weather to the roadworks and everything in between. Some days were quieter than usual, some downright challenging, but the support we did see meant a lot. Every visit, every takeaway, every kind word helped keep the wheels turning at Brewed As.
November
Summer is only a month away, the days are warming up, and things are starting to hum again at Brewed As. We’ve been tuning up the vibe - from the music that fills the room to the way we think about every cup we brew and every drink we pour. It’s all about connection, craft, and those little moments that make life good.

It’s been a busy and inspiring month at Brewed As! From welcoming some incredible voices at our poetry night to the buzz of the recent barista champs, we’ve been celebrating creativity in all its forms. Looking ahead, we’re getting ready to share our flavours at Savour Northland on October 4th, an event we can’t wait to be part of.
And because no newsletter is complete without a little coffee nerdery, we’re diving into the story of the humble flat white.

As Winter deepens, the heart of Wood Street keeps beating...
With roadworks underway around Molesworth Drive and Wood Street, it’s a challenging time for small local businesses - but we’re still open, still creating, and still here for you.
The new back carpark is open this Friday via Fagan Place, and pedestrian access is being maintained throughout the work. It might take an extra minute or two to get to us, but your support right now makes a real difference - not just to us, but to all the local spots that give Wood Street its unique flavour.

We're marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Pink Ribbon Brunch in partnership with Four Square - a morning of delicious food, fun energy, and a charity auction packed with curated bundles, all for a great cause. With Mother's Day around the corner, it's the perfect time to treat someone special while giving back. Six years ago, Brewed As began as just the two of us – Anna and I, making coffees and sweet treats for the cabinet, chasing a dream and a whole lot of early mornings. Fast forward to today, and we’re a full-blown restaurant with a bar, a talented crew of 20 wonderful individuals, and a space that’s grown into something far bigger than we ever imagined – a hub, a hangout, a home away from home.
