The dumplings aren’t going anywhere.

For a while, Tuesday night dumplings were a thing - and if you were a regular, you knew. When we moved to our winter hours and dropped Tuesday evenings, we heard you. Loudly. So we did the only sensible thing and put them on the evening menu permanently. Wednesday through Saturday, dumplings are yours.

Something special just landed.

I just heard this morning, Stu at Turning Point Coffee has got a new single origin coffee that is so fresh off the boat we're still getting the full details together - but we can tell you it's a natural processed Colombian and it is going to be something else. Watch this space. We'll be shouting about it properly very soon.

New cocktails. New wines. Winter is sorted.

Our bar menu has had a proper refresh - new cocktails and a wine list we're genuinely excited about. It's fresh off to the printers and will be live within the week. Consider this your sneak preview.

The cocktail list has had a refresh - some twists on old favourites, a couple of bold new contenders, and our Cold Brew Martini going absolutely nowhere.

New to the list: a Ginger Sakura Spritz, a Kawakawa Margarita made with foraged kawakawa from right here in Mangawhai, a silky Damson Plum Amaretto Sour, and the Miso Honey Banana Old Fashioned - which is exactly as good as it sounds.

Come in curious. Leave with a new favourite.

A couple of the new additions are worth calling out:

Orange Wine - Pinot Gris · Skin contact white
This one needs a quick explanation because it's unlike anything most people have tried. The orange colour comes from skin contact, the same way red wine gets its colour. The result is a wine with the texture of a light red and the freshness of a white.
Apricot, mandarin, stonefruit, savoury. Our most adventurous white and a brilliant food match for the banana blossom, miso cauliflower, venison, and kingfish.

Reed Frequency Botrytis Riesling 2025 · Dessert wine
Made from noble rot grapes, where a specific mould concentrates the sugars in the grape, creating an intensely sweet, complex dessert wine without tasting cloying or heavy. And here's the exciting part - it's made by the same winemaker behind the Wutz late harvest Riesling. If you loved that one, this is your next obsession.

The full new wine list, including a new Gamay, a Rock Ferry Pinot Gris, and the return of Rock Ferry Brut Rosé, plus the refreshed cocktail list, are all waiting for you at the bar. A couple of snaps, myself, Anna, our supervisor and restaurant manager Zo & Tony.
